Chelsea - A Highland Retreat

It had always been an ambition to create a Garden at the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show. In 2005 I submitted a design of what is believed to be the first Scottish garden at Chelsea, along with friend Catherine Jago.

Out of 144 applicants that year for a courtyard garden, our design was 1 of 9 accepted to exhibit. We also were asked to host the launch of HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mothers Castle of Mey Trust on our garden by Alan Titchmarsh and had the great honour to be visited by HM The Queen, then was awarded the prestigious Silver Medal from the Royal Horticultural Society.

All this was made possible with the help of Dan Aird of Breathing Space, our wonderful landscaper. Our main sponsor Kinnaird Estate. Also George Goldsmith, Caithness Stone Industries Ltd & Atholl Estates Ltd. Chedworth Horticultural Society. Logistics by Caledonian Logistics and Mudie Bond. Garden Engravings and structures by Pip Hall, Aileen - Anne Brannigan, Martin Reilly and Gareth Newman. Finally Caroline Pile of Piledrivers who stepped in on behalf of Kinnaird and the Castle of Mey Trust and handled press and publicity.
