RHS Chelsea - A Highland Retreat

It had always been an ambition of mine to create a Garden at the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show.  Hence, in 2005 I submitted a design of what is believed to be the first Scottish garden at Chelsea, along with my friend, Catherine Jago.

Out of 144 applicants that year for a courtyard garden, our design was 1 of 9 accepted to exhibit.

Subsequently, Alan Titchmarsh hosted the launch of HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother's Castle of Mey Trust on our garden, where we had the great honour to be visited by HM The Queen and were awarded the prestigious Silver Medal from the Royal Horticultural Society.

All this was made possible with the help of our wonderful landscaper, Dan Aird of Breathing Space, our main sponsor, Kinnaird Estate, along with George Goldsmith, Caithness Stone Industries Ltd, Atholl Estates Ltd and the Chedworth Horticultural Society.

Caledonian Logistics manged logistics, together with Mudie Bond.

Garden Engravings and structures were provided by Pip Hall, Aileen - Anne Brannigan, Martin Reilly and Gareth Newman.

The wonderful Caroline Pile of Piledrivers stepped in on behalf of Kinnaird and the Castle of Mey Trust to handle all the press and publicity.
