A Cotswold Cottage Garden

Chelsea Award-winning Garden design in the Cotwolds

Based in the Cotswolds, Chelsea award-winning garden designer Sue Bradbury specialises in  traditional and contemporary garden design, restoration and planting for the Cotswolds area and in Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire.

Sue's simple but stunning designs demonstrate her belief that a garden should fit in with its surroundings and enhance the landscape.  Hence her aptitude for creating beautiful, organic, ecologically-sustainable gardens that provide seasonal pleasure and perform year after year, regardless of environment or location

In addition to inspired and throughtul garden designs, Sue also conducts Secret Garden Tours, pleasurable, informative outings to exclusive gardens across the UK, wonderfully supplemented by Sue's invaluable knowledge and expertise which, as you will discover, extends far beyond the Cotswolds area that is home to her designs.

A passion for Natural Cotwolds Garden Design

A passionate conservationist, with great respect for the work and responsibility of gamekeepers, Sue has an immense love of Scotland, the countryside and it’s pursuits.

Hence, in 2005, when a likeminded friend asked if she would like to design a garden for the 2006 Chelsea Flower Show, Sue accepted, her love of Scotland inspiring her award-winning Highland Retreat garden design.  The rest is history.

A lover of landscapes and natural environments, Sue believes every garden should fit in with its surroundings and enhance the landscape.  Hence she works in tune with nature, bringing it into the garden with considerate designs that foster natural harmony, creating vital habitats for bees, songbirds and other wildlife currently at risk from the changing environment.

Effortless Beauty

In line with her personal philosophy, which is to create aesthetically pleasing, natural spaces, Sue excels in designing environmentally-friendly and timeless gardens that look as if they have always been there.

Sue opened her own wonderful garden at Keen's Cottage (right) to the public for the Royal British Legion and National Garden Scheme in 2003, 2004 & 2008.

Exquisite Cotswolds Garden Design

Sue undertakes all the design and restoration work for her bespoke gardens herself and she can design anything, from borders, small courtyards, or large gardens, to entire estates.

From low maintenance "Wow!" factor borders that flower from May to November, to impressive rose art that provides a wonderful structure even when the roses are dormant, Sue can design as much or as little for you as you require.

An expert rose pruner, Sue is in very much in demand from clients who need her to prune their roses from November to March, to ensure their roses bloom to absolute perfection the following spring.

Timeless Charm

Conscious of the value of simple, natural materials, Sue works closely with artisan craftsman to create beautiful, traditional features, such as wooden gates, stonewalls and hand-crafted ironwork.

Incorporating such hand-crafted features helps to create organic, seemingly well-established gardens that blend seemlessly into their surroundings, which Sue carefully designs, to  appear as nature intended.
